IN LOVING MEMORY OF SICILY

It is with a sad and heavy heart to share with you, that my friend Sicily has passed away.

In honor of Sicily, I am observing a moment of silence today.

My condolences and my heart go out to her family and friends.

A memorial in remembrance of Sicily will be displayed tomorrow @ www.sicily08.blogspot.com

Words cannot express how much Sicily will be missed. I was touched by her life.

IN MEMORY OF SICILY

It is with a sad and heavy heart to inform you a friend of mine, Sicily died April 7, 2008. I just found out today. I am shocked beyond belief. I have been crying all day. I was told by her co-worker she died from a brain seizure. My mind is trying to process this information, but my heart didn't want to believe it. And what hurt the most was this happened 3 months ago.

Sicily was (God, I hate saying "was")

Sicily was someone I met 6 years ago. My first visit to a MAC Cosmetic counter and she was the makeup artist. Now keep in mind I am not the type of person who really gets into makeup. When I stopped by the counter, I had no idea what I was doing. Sicily and I became friends immediately. She had the type of personality that just drew you in. And by the time I left the store, well lets just say "Halle Barry eat your heart out!! My makeup was beautiful and flawless. You couldn't tell me nothing. She was that good PLUS taken up a notch.

Although I would only see Sicily a few times a year, when we did see each other it was like seeing an old friend. She always had a smile on her face and never forgot my name. She had a light from within with a genuine and great heart. Siciliy I will miss you, but will never forget you. Rest in peace sweetheart.

BURPLE NURPLE

Network : Cartoon Network

Show : Chowder

Episode : Burple Nurples

Favorite Quote : Gorgonzola: What is this, a childish child-sized food stand?Chowder: Oh, hey Gorgonzola. I’m selling burple nurples that I made myself, like a real chef.Gorgonzola: What, you think you’re better than me?!Chowder: Listen, I’ve got a lot of customers waiting.(The scene zooms back to show no other customers in the area)

EPISODE SUMMARY:

Due to her many successes in the kitchen, Ms. Endive has decided to allow Panini to cook a dish all on her own. When Chowder learns of this, he decides to pressure Mung Daal into letting him cook his own dish, as Mung hates Ms. Endive and he doesn’t want to allow her apprentice to be more successful than his apprentice. However, when Chowder fails to make the dish properly, Mung must try to prevent people from eating the contaminated dish, all the while trying not to hurt the feelings of his young apprentice.

This episode is hillarious. My favorite characters are Gorgonzola and Panini. This show is really out there.....in a good way of course.

SUPPORT THE MARCH OF DIMES

Expected to be her family’s Halloween treat, Catharine Aboulhouda instead arrived on the Fourth of July, weighing 1 pound, 10 ounces and just 12 inches long. Since she was 16 weeks early, her eyes were still fused shut, and she fought for every breath, facing daily challenges caused by a heart defect, bleeding in her brain, jaundice and a heart murmur. Her mom, Susan, recalls: "Most parents dream of the moment their child is born and holding them only seconds after; but for my husband Mike and me, it would be a very long time before we could ever cuddle or gently caress our precious little girl. From the simple questions about her diapers to overwhelming medical procedures, we were in for a roller-coaster ride that we never expected to take."
After 113 days in the NICU, Catharine went home with her parents and big brother, Michael, still fragile enough to need monitors and oxygen. Amazingly, she has no lasting consequences of her extremely premature birth, thanks in part to medical advances developed and funded by the March of Dimes.

Today, Catharine, from Allentown, Pa. is a healthy 5-year-old with the energy of a firecracker — she loves singing, dancing, reading with her grandparents, and swimming with Michael. As the 2008 National Ambassador, she will travel around the country with her parents, sharing her story to help others understand the seriousness of premature birth, and the importance of supporting the March of Dimes mission to help all babies be born full term and healthy.
"Perhaps one reason Catharine came into the world early," says Susan, "is to let people know that even the tiniest babies can make a difference."
